A receding hairline is a condition wherein baldness begins to take place and the hair at the crown and temple of the head starts to become thin. It is categorized as a synthetic anti-androgen and functions to inhibit type 2 5-alpha reductase which is an enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT. By controlling DHT, Finasteride can promote receding hairline treatment.
This is an over-the-counter drug that is manufactured by numerous companies. Again, take note that when you start taking these drugs, you need to continue taking it for a lifetime. Typically, the dosage would be one milligram per day.
b.) Minoxidil
This is specifically indicated for baldness among men specifically for frontal hair loss and is also a drug approved by the FDA. Minoxidil has DHT blockers which restrict the production of DHT, hence, controlling and preventing hair loss.
This has also several brands available. By taking this drug everyday, it will boost the hair follicles to grow new hairs. Moreover, you can get a topical type of this medication which you can apply directly to your scalp. However, taking this drug topically needs to be done twice a day.
By knowing the options regarding receding hairline treatment, it is up to you to decide which one is suitable for you. A lot of men do choose one of these options, but others prefer to have a short haircut or even shave their hair completely to hide the receding hairlines.
